6.5 Grendel cmmg anvil just on the market.

This may be the idea that I had to make a 6.5 Max AR come true. Instead of AR Grrr lite-,

It's based upon the AR10 , Same larger bolt as an AR10..,,yet has the AR 15 magwell. And shorter than the AR 10 rec. length.

I'll run some numbers- then contact CMMG. Grrr could grow a couple hundo in fps. It would mimic a 6.5 x 55 Swede …. To a T..

Then to contact Von gruff- we were in converse last year of this for the AR 15 system.

This could be the ticket for my idea- reamer print will be drawn tomorrow. Could be a new hot rod in my safe- garage--- or , yours

Everything will fit- I'll just have to make , or have made- some custom -elongated mags. This is so cool.

AR 10, has more lower rec. mtl. to work with - for elongated mags. Sweet !

These have been out for a while now since las year.

We had at least one big thread on them.

Joe and I stopped by their booth at SHOT and checked them out.

A bit heavier than an AR15 due to the receiver size and BCG, which is basically an LR-308 BCG with the tail shortened.

Would be interesting to do one of these in 6mm AR Turbo or 6mm AR.

Why not do a simple 6mm neck down drawing while you are at it?

Once you take the Grendel out of a stock AR15 it rapidly loses its appeal. The cost, weight, and proprietary parts put you in Creedmore or 6.5L territory for the same money and weight. I built a AR308 on a 2A receiver set that weighs less than the 16" Anvil and cost almost the same.
