I've seen people debating between these two scopes and I happened to have both on hand un-mounted so I thought I'd do a photo illustration for those in this predicament who'd like to see how big they look mounted on an AR. This is a 20" barrel with a 13" handguard. The 4-16 is a 44mm objective and of course the 6-24 is a 50mm objective.
I went with the 4-16 for this build but I don't think you could go wrong either way. The 4-16 balances better and feels notable less bulky. I've shot 1000yrds with a 16x scope but prefer 20+ power. Regardless I think the 4-16 is a better fit for a carry rifle which this one will be. The 6-24 was for my bull-barreled bolt gun which doesn't get carried far. I hope this helps
