Those 223s I shot were Federal 55gr XM193 FMJ from Midway.

Different barrel is the likely reason for the lower SD.

I have a total of 6 Grendels, 4 the same make and model. I've no doubt that I would see the same variations in ES and SD. 3 of the Howas have 3 different average FPS shooting from the same box of ammo.

Great info. I've seen something similar from someone else who tested them together.
