I like my MDT LSS XL chassis a lot. I built this gun for the bench so the Magpul PRS works great being fully adjustable. If I was to build one for hunting a carbine stock would be my choice and a cheek riser would probably be needed.

I put one on my Ruger american predator 243, the regular LSS, with the Magpul CTR stock (adjustable), and a 1/4" riser snapped onto the stock, great sight picture. Since it is a bolt, no worries about charging handle, just to mention that.

I have a luth AR carbine with the cheek riser. I definitely need the riser for my setup.

Luth fixed AR on mine. I need to switch out to a carbine version - I need more LOP.

There are several more brands available now. A search on Brownells will come up with three or four more than the Luth and Magpul PRS. Someoen on here went with one of those new ones but I don't recall posting on the results.

Sorry for the delay, been busy lately. I have the MDT Brownells chassis which I believe is a slight variation of the regular LSS.

I am running the Brownell BRN-1 on my Howa Mini with the LuthAr MBA3. There is a set screw on the carbine MBA-3 and -4 to take the slop/rattle out of the stock so it feels like a fixed stock.

Do you feel like you need the cheek riser or is it more of a comfort and want?

Not sure yet, it will depend on the scope, rings, etc. With my lower power hunting scope in lower rings, I may not need it. With the larger target scope it may be needed. It is removeable, though, so I have the option if needed.
