Wonder how rugged these are. Could be pretty cool after familiarization.

Definitely state of the art,....my only question is how durable is it? Because we all know Mr. Murphy never takes a day off

I like it seems cool. But I will wait on it for bout 5 to 7 years and the gen 7 or 8 to come out by then they will have it down to a nice light weight and rugged version.

Was wondering about durability also. What happens when you add water?

            Pulsar
            FLIR/Armasight
            ATN
            and several others

All using similar tech in their thermal and NV units as well as some daytime units.

            The tech will work.
In my experience thus far, the drawbacks will be in the fact that your shiny new, EXPENSIVE sighting system will be 98% dependent on the ability of their programmers and hardware vendors.
The other 2% will be dependent on the ability of the end user to understand/implement the equipment.

I've used a Pulsar in the rain ... no worries.

The exposed touch screen will have problems with rain, moisture, dust, impacts, and extreme cold.

I also need a day optic that works regardless of whether battery power is available.

This is something that would be cool for covered range use in pleasant weather, where a reviewer wants to show some type of recorded sight picture while shooting, but it will suffer in a hunting and competitive environment due to the conditions.

Some who shot it at Media Day said it has lag still as well.
