What High Capacity Mags are you guys using? What about 7.62x39 Mags?

Ok, I'm new to the 6.5G scene,(and too lazy to search)
what magazines are you guys running for hicap aka 15rd, 25rd.?
which have been the most reliable for you?
Has anyone tried the 7.62x39 AR mags?
I know the AA E-lander are reported best from what I've read so far, but they are also pricey.
Trying to save myself some R&T cost since I would be trying them all.

    Thanks for any input.

I have original C Products, ASC and E-Lander 6.5 Grendel mags. I haven’t bought any of the new CPD mags. I like the E-Lander mags and is all I’ve bought since they were introduced. Once E-Lander mags wear in they are very robust good mags.

LaRue has about the best price on E-Lander mags but their website doesn’t show inventory. It took me a couple of months to get my last mags from LaRue. If your Mil/LE or have a CR license you can get a better price from Brownell’s. Midway run sales and coupon offers which help off set the price.

A5BLASTER nice. I may pick up a few CPD and E-Lander based on you guys. I do get a discount from Brownells, but is Larue's price better than them? If so I can wait on them from Larue. I just got one of their triggers I ordered in December.

I want some I can count on and some I can beat on that also function well.

I was also watching a video on modifying Pmags for use by cutting the follower.
Has anyone tried that or the 7.62x39 mags?

Forget about the pmags. Best you will get is 5 to 7 depending on the cap of the mag.

To many good grendel mags out there to waist time and money on pmags or 7.62x39 mags.

Amend2 will have their grendel polymer mag out for sale soon if you want a polymer mag.

I like both. The poly are normally quieter. I want reliable. From what i've read. My Grendel uppers are in the mail so I have no 1st hand experience here...That most of these Grendels run very reliably. The biggest issue is the magazines.
I'm thinking of transitioning from 5.56, 308 and 6.8 SPC to one cal for pistol, rifle and bolt gun... Only having to reload for 1 caliber, (well ok 3. I will still be reloading 6.5 CM and 300BO) but I'm looking for a do all cartridge that I can focus on for most work and when Wolf started making ammo for Grendel that was a big one for me, because I can get more trigger time for my $$$.
                I admit it I"m a cheap ars.
Anyway good info from you guys. I do have 3 Pmag followers(extras) from a conversion laying around so I may mess with them since it's free.
Looking forward to getting more info from you guys that have been shooting 65G.
I'll post some pics of my experiences as I go along learning about this new cartridge for me.
                Thanks

Would love to hear how the follower change in a 5.56 p-mag works.

Just got my 1st CPD 10rd grendel mag. Compared it externally with my 6.8spc 10rd CPD mag.
They look identical other than the color and number on the follower.
Will be testing them as soon as I have ammo tomorrow.
Have some AR-Stoner mags in route. They were on sale at Midway for $11.99 10rd and 25rd.
I'll let you guys know when I have a chance to test them.
I'll be using a Ruger American Rifle and a 12" and 18" PSA upper on Anderson and Spikes lowers.

The Magpul mod will be thrown in here somewhere when I get a chance to do some chopping.

Tried my 28rd CPD 6.8mag with 20 rounds in it of 6.5G. Hand cycled just fine.
Waiting on it to warm up to go out and play. The magpul 300blkout mags were a definite no go. I may try to mess with them again, but they were popping rounds out and nose diving. Pmags look like they have issues with the front divider. Gonna have to take one apart and really look at it.
Right now I'm thinking my 6.8 CPD mags will work just fine with the Grendel since externally they look exactly the same.
I will give them all a try when it warms up here.

The gen 3 pmags 10 rounders will work best if loaded only with 5 rounds of grendel, with no modification. I used them for a lil while myself.

In the end the dedicated 6.5 grendel mags are the way to go.

I've been using the CProducts 25rd mags for many years without issue, and have seen a lot of them come through courses without any malfs I can recall.

That includes multiple attendees across all kinds of conditions, ammo, and rifles.

If they were screwing up, I would call them out as something to avoid, but I just haven't seen it.

With some of the early 10rd mags and the straight 15rd mags, there were problems and I've seen a lot of complaints with ASC mags.

Spoke with CPD yesterday. The geometry underwent a significant redesign with the 26rd mags (different spring, modified follower) for uniform consistent performance especially so that the follower would not cant at different loading intervals. The 28rd mags are no longer being made, although I have had flawless success with them after several hundred rounds of Wolf steel case and Hornady Black. Same flawless performance with the 24rd Elander mags.

The new Maglula Gen II 5.56 /.223 LULA loader/unloader (CAGE: 2899A) works on the Elander 24rd mags as well as the CPD 28rd and and the new 26rd mags, whereas the prior model Maglula did not work on the 24rd Elander mags. PSA has a great price on the new CPD 26rd mags but they are out of stock and have not yet submitted a purchase order for 2019.

Good info on the maglula. I had been wondering on those. Sounds like u need them with new E-lander 24rd mags.
I borrowed a friend's ACS 7.62x39 20rd mag just to test it. Interesting that the follower is different on it compared to the CPD Grendel and 68 mags. Looks to support the case only and nothing in the bullet area. Also they are much more curved than my CPD Grendel 28rd mags.
