I just put a Vortex Optics Copperhead 3-9X40 and 4-12X44 what you all think good choice?
Is it works very well for both hunting and targets?

My take on this differs from what many say: IMO, the scope is not for the gun, it is for the eye.
Whatever it takes for your eyes to see clearly and distinguish and differentiate your target and shoot accurately, that's what you should be using.
The shots you pass on are just as important, if not more so, than the ones you take.

With a cartridge able to reach 1300 yards accurately, is it really too much scope? At lowest magnification its 3x...

I run a 5-30x56, hard to see the golf balls scattered on the berms out past 400 yards without it.
