EOTech G23/33 magnifier or other?
Okay, this kind of branches off the other post I made but now I'm focused on the magnifier. Just to recap this is for a 5.56 not my Grendel, so a REALLY long range optic is not needed for this build but I would like to be able to reach out and shoot a tick off a hogs hind end just for fun.
I've decided on an xps 2-2 or exps 2-2 depending on the magnifier I get.
I might be able to get this ( http://www.opticsplanet.com/eotech-m...s-reticle.html ) for $750-850 brand new, sshhh top secret!
But I was kind of looking at a 5, 6 or 7x magnifier. I know that deal is hard to beat but I am wondering if I will be happy with just a 3x (which I think it is actually 3.25x) out to 300 yards or even 400 yards just for fun. The g33 has an adjustable diopter and a few other extra's but the cost of course is a bit more for those bells and whistles and won't be able to get that upgrade in the deal so it would be separate running me well over $1000 for both sight and mag.
Other magnifiers I have looked at are:

Mako 7x http://www.amazon.com/Mako-Magnifier...+dot+magnifier Watched a few reviews on youtube of this and it seems this is not a true 7x but actually around a 5x but still everyone that has one seems to love it.
L&M Tactical 3x http://www.amazon.com/Tactical-XD-4-...+dot+magnifier People suggest this is equal to g23 minus $350 but the mount is not that great (which can always be upgraded with the money saved).
Then of course there is sightmark, vortex on and on and on.
If I go with either of these non EOTech magnifiers I will go with the xps 2-2 so I don't have to spend another $120 or so buying risers. Most of those come with standard height mounts, you need a tall for exps if I understand everything correct. This is a range/fun gun so it's not that big of a deal to flip the magnifier over to change the brightness.
