I'm in the market for a decent night vision or thermal scope, but budget (as usual) is very important. I was torn on whether I wanted thermal or night vision. After a lot of research, I keep coming back to this ThermNight TNC635R. Does anyone have experience with these that can offer reasons for or against buying one? I live in Texas and hunt deer, hogs, occasionally exotics, and predators.
Has Anyone Tried a DNT Optics TNC635?

I have one in hand right now.
Here is my personal opinion at this time. I tested the original TNC225R and now the company has sent me the TNC635R. I think I was more impressed with the possibilities that a better thermal would offer the platform to realize that maybe this is all just a bit too much. This may be my old guy fuddy duddy nature showing through, but the whole ThermNight platform is fairly complex to operate. You can learn to operate an electro opitc, but some are easier to deal with than others.
I will say this. Everything on the DNT Optics ThermNight works as designed. So far the problems where I thought things did not work as designed were more of user error than issues with the scope. However, just because they work well individually does not mean that they attain synergy together.
With that said, I would like to learn more about your hunting situation(s) to determine if this optic would fit your needs better or worse than running with a solo thermal weapon sight, solo digital night vision/day vision sight, or one of those sights with a thermal spotter. It sounds like I have the information backwards, but where having two different types of optics as a single unit may make it sound more like a general purpose optic that will cover more situations (true), it does not cover more situations equally well and when using both optics at the same time, optimal use will only happen in limited, specific situations. For example, do you normally hunt well grazed pastures, fallow fields, woods, or combinations? Is your terrain hilly or flat? What is your typical shot distance? What is your typical longest shots and shortest shots. I would answer by saying that I hunt anywhere (regularly) but in the woods. My typical shot distance is 105 yards with my normal longer distance shots being ~200-250 (I rarely exceed 250) and my normal close shots I prefer to no be less than 75, but inside 50 happens from time to time.
Here is my first video with the TNC635R. Sorry for the typos in the video. This will show some of the advantages and shortcomings of the unit. For example, smoke from previous shots from the rifle made seeing targets downrange more difficult as more and more shots were fired when using DNV.
Feel free to PM me with your phone number. I can probably talk you through more information in 15 minutes than it would take 2 hours to type.
Also, I am not involved in thermal sales and will not try to sell you anything and I won't ask you to join my creepy, cooky cult or try to get you to sign up for an Amway dealership. I don't care who or where you buy as long as you don't buy ATN.
I am not a huge fan of the TNC635R, but mostly because it does not fit my needs particularly well. It may be perfect for your situation (experience, budget, optics capabilities, hunting terrain, hunting environmentals, etc.). I have now used the TNC225R and TNC635R and spoken with other users. DNT makes a solid product. The only question would be how well it fits your situation.Kill a hog. Save the planet.

OMG, I sent this question and had been looking for a response, but hadn't spent enough time understanding the forum well enough to realize that you had responded. I AM SO SORRY!! I am terrible at keeping up with forums!
So first, THANK YOU! Second, I have seen many, MANY of your videos and am a fan of your channel.
Since my posting, I have acquired the TNC335R and love it! I like the field of view, but would like the resolution of the 635. I am in the Houston, TX area and hunt hogs around here periodically, either with my 6.5 Grendel or .308. Depends on my mood. We get unfriendly conditions that can change from night to night, including fog. So having both thermal and night vision in one piece of equipment is terrific!
I am looking forward to a trip to my brother-in-law's ranch in Junction to eradicate hogs and aoudad, as well as harvest axis. Of course, I only have this month because rifle season for whitetails starts in less than a month.

Well, this is my son and I'm shooting at the same time, counting down together where the shot sounds like one. It's pretty cool. https://youtu.be/PAye_Q39tIw?si=m4uDUJDqn816uObF
