Since Vortex introduced this model in HD for 2014, Midway is clearing out the old stock. I couldn't resist and will have mine here in a few days.

Those are nice bino's. I hope they last until I can scratch up the cash...Originally posted by biodsl View PostSince Vortex introduced this model in HD for 2014, Midway is clearing out the old stock. I couldn't resist and will have mine here in a few days.

The 8x28s were really what I'd been looking at over the last couple of months. Small enough to be handy and at the ready. If Midway hadn't discounted the 10x50s so much that would have been my purchase.Originally posted by LRRPF52 View PostI love the little 8x28 R/T mini binos. I've become a huge fan of Vortex's 8x36 monoculars. Only $120 at Amazon.
I original purchased Vortex's Recon R/T 15x50 monocular, but it was just to much magnification for the east coast. I bought a Recon R/T 8x36 as a christmas present thinking it'd be just a decent cheapo monocular. I was wrong! The glass is every bit as good as the Recon and in a nice compact package. It has a belt clip that makes it incredibly handy when I'm hunting. I do suggest attaching a lanyard to it. I've been thankful I did a few times.
So I'll be trading off the Recon eventually."Those who sacrifice liberty for security, deserve neither." Benjamin Franklin
