    Hey guys and gals!

Wanted to let you all know we are making Thread caps for drop in barrels.

Edit: The spirals on the outside match the 1-8 Twist on the inside

    1/2-28 & 5/8-24

Here's a link to the website with pricing

Sweet mother of god! Those are awesome. Too bad my barrel has the goofy AA 3/4x(something) threads...

Dan has them listed as $25 a piece or $20 if you get a barrel also, or $20/5+

Any possibility you will make some in 9/16-24 for us with the "other companies" thread pattern? Also are your 5/8-24 thread going to be thin to fit the AR-740 .745 barrel contour? I haven't found a 5/8 comp that will fit my Sweet Lilja and keep it looking good. Didn't realize the 5/8 thread on a .745 leave almost no shoulder.

                And yes those are cool.

Tedward's comment got me thinking. Possible to make them tapered or identical diameter to match the contours from the group buy that was just completed?

And maybe they can cut the threads short, just to really match them up!

(Sorry - I just can't help myself, sometimes.)
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Ok with your .02 on the Liberty but if you look at the picture, that is a 1/2"-28 with the .745 OD so it fits nice and flush. If it is a 5/8"-24 that material is going to be supper thin if it s a .745 OD. as thick as the shoulder. So that was one question.

And yes, I do want to use something like that on my Liberty Barrels so a comp doesn't need used, and what Lilja did looks great.

Another thing I found out is why Bill A. used the 9/16-24. Not to make it hard to get parts but with a .750 GB the barrel end is around .745 to .740. Going to 1/2-28 thread there isn't enough material around the bore. Going to 5/8-24 there isn't any shoulder like your Lilja. So the 9/16-24 left a good shoulder to let a comp seat against with enough material around the bore. Happy medium for the .750 GB. and barrel threads on a 6.5 Grendel.

                            Of similar design...

Kidding aside, the Lilja thread protector looks like a quality item.

I was looking for something this nice a couple weeks ago but had to settle for a flash hider because I was worried about the crown. I used rock set...we'll see how hard it is to get if off.
