I have a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 mounted on a Burris P.E.P.R. QD mount. I went to sight in yesterday and I cannot get the elevation down far enough w.o running out of clicks. I am still 4" high at 50 yds. I have a red dot sight angle mounted off the rail on the same rifle which is dead-on at 50 yds. I went thru the Trijicon owner's manual and the website with no luck (nothing about resetting the elevation turret).
I found a reference on the web to putting camera film between the scope and the front mount (as a shim) if one needed to raise a scope that was too low. I would assume that doing the same thing between the rear mount and the scope would lower the point of aim.
So, questions:
1. Does anybody know of a way to reset the elevation turret on an Accupoint?
2. Has anyone had a similar problem with the P.E.P.R. mount?
3. Does anyone have experience with the "film shim" technique with a P.E.P.R. mount? Since it is one piece, logic would dictate that it would be difficult to shim....
4. Should I just scrap it and get different mounts?
5. Or, maybe more likely, am I just an idiot and I am missing something obvious?
Thanks for the help (again).
