EDIT: April 5th 2018 - I tried this for a couple days with just the barrel, bolt, brake, a few tire kickers PM'ed me, decided to complete the build and offer as a complete upper. Note the upper receiver and handguard were harvested from a previous build so they have minor handling marks, nothing gaudy or noticeable from more that a foot away.
X-Caliber Barrel / Maxim Firearms Bolt / Troy Claymore Brake
The barrel is 20" HBAR configuration, .750" gas block journal , threaded 5/8x24 in Matte finish
Caliber is .264 LBC (Shoots Grendel Factory ammo) 1:8 twist
Upgrades on the barrel are thermal fluting and Cryogenic Treatment
Cryogenic Treatment advantages: From X-caliber's website - - -
50 to 60 fps increase in velocity, less copper and carbon fouling, decrease in group size, and P.O.I. shift, 30% lower Core Temperature.
And it is deep fluted to dissipate what heat is present.
The bolt is a brand new 7.62x39 bolt (Type 1 Grendel chamber/bolt format) You cannot use a 6.5 Grendel Bolt with this barrel (Type II) the bolt face depths are different i.e. headspacing will differ.
The barrel alone, configured the way this is, runs $ 615.00 plus shipping from X-caliber
