I have around 1100 to spend on a 6.5 Grendel rifle. What is a great brand to start with. PSA or Bear Creek or any suggestions

Yeah for $1100 you could have any sort of barrel you want custom made, including Proof carbon fiber or similar.
However, I'm guessing OP means a 20" barreled Grendel AR for $1100, in which case I'd recommend getting an Alexander Arms 20" upper kit for $700 and spend the rest on an Aero lower with a decent trigger, a Magpul stock, and something like a Samson SXT freefloat hand guard.

The LaRue is a great deal for 799 in my opinion. It is not a light upper so it depends on how you are going to use it. My LaRue is my heaviest rifle and I would trust it in an end of the world situation. That being said you can get 90% of the performance out of a PSA upper for what 400 or less? It really depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. My favorite 6.5 Grendel is a toss up between my 12" monster barreled upper I put together and my SOLGW 16" East India Match barreled upper I put together. The lighter weight and shorter barrels maneuver easier and don't give up much in performance.

I've killed killed 5 deer so far with my rig, bought a daily deal upper from PSA, a 16"Barrel and bolt from bft and popped it on a PSA lower I had laying around. I'm spoiled living here in SC in the good old days they would just put a pallet of blem uppers out on a Saturday morning for almost nothing just to clear em out.
All that to say, I've probably got 500-600 in my rig and even less of I had dumped the pull off barrel. You don't have to spent a jillion dollars to get a rifle that shoots, spend the difference on a couple cases of ammo and shoot the hell out of it. Learn your rifle and there won't be a deer or hog that's safe.
