Sounds like a nice setup. I think I'm getting my BCG from AIM surplus. The H4, I got a cheap gas block for $15 cash no tax free cross at the manufacturer gun show. Make SURE to get the Larue grip as well I've started a small collection and that grip is probably twice as next as the next best runner up. Also check out a Odin Zulu stock it's almost certainly lighter (probably again by about double) and cheaper. ALG has some nice hand gaurds that go on sale a couple times a year or have blem sales.
Good luck! I feel your pain. I have six bleeding me dry. Down to BCG's, two HG's, two SLR gas blocks, irons, optics/mounts, and finally dies/pills/powder.

I don't really care for the Odin Zulu stock, it's definitely more affordable but the Magpul PRS has way more adjustability. The ALG guards look good but I bought a Midwest Industries for my first Grendel and it is spectacular so I'm definitely putting another on this build. I didn't list it before but I'm going with an SLR adjustable gas block on this build and ones going on my other Grendel which I gave to my sister. That Larue grip has potential but I can't order one without knowing for sure that I will use it and there's nowhere near me to fondle one. Wish there was because I like the looks of it. All of my AR's so far have or will have rubberized Hogue or Ergo grips so it's hard for me to change lol.

BFT received barrel this morning. Fits my Precision Firearms forged upper well. Not a force fit but snug. A few dings in the finish but since this will be my work rifle, I expect it will get many more on the ranch. Will not get finished assembling for a couple of months, I think. I just finished the math... $1,771.32 and I still need mounts and that doesn't count all the reloading supplies that I bought either. I hope this thing shoots the lights out, cause my daughter (she had a little help) just bought 1962 Remington BDL in 7MM Magnum for $350 and it shot a .457" group at 100 yds. I'm going to have a hard timing explaining why I paid so much for another black gun if it doesn't shoot. However, I am very happy with the way it turned out, I just need to get my back-ordered scope and rings and then I'll head to the range. I have a date with my daughter in Wyoming for a late season cow elk hunt and I hope I have it all setup and ready to go by then; otherwise, I going to have to wait until she is done shootin' hers with that 7MM.

We need to figure out an efficiency factor for our rifles, $/MOA or something like that. But need to take into account recoil as well.

My goal was an under seven pounds rig with 20" barrel. I went AR because the user's acidic chemistry rusts regular blued rifles. The price needed to be the same or less than a Howa Mini sent out for QPQ, etc. My total cost on the AR is about $750 according to the spreadsheet. Total weight loaded is under seven pounds. The only boutique parts are the Smoke Composites barrel nut and no-name carbon fiber tube for the handguard.
