Has anyone estimated what velocity the Hornady factory load 123grain A-max will do in this barrel?

With 123gr factory AMAX, SST, and ELD-M, you'll be in the low/mid-2300's for speed.

Supersonic out to 975yds at 2340fps mv.

At the rate the extras are going, if you know you want one I would just send my money in now. If you changed your mind, I'm sure you could make all your money back. $165 isn't very much for such a high quality barrel imo.

First can you put a billet upper on a forged lower? If so what would be the cons and has anyone used one of these skeletonized uppers?

Yes you can. I've done it and this is from F-1's website: This upper receiver is also universal which makes it compatible with any MIL-SPEC lower out there.
