I wanted to gauge interest in a possible PDW telescoping brace group buy before approaching manufacturers.
With all the pistol builds going on, I've been looking at the Maxim PDW brace and the SB Tactical brace.
Main differences between the 2:
SB is longer collapsed, shorter extended, no gap between the RET and the cheek piece, and uses a standard carbine buffer and spring.
Maxim PDW is shorter collapsed, with more length to extend, has a proprietary shorter RET, buffer, and recoil spring. There is also a special short JP SCS available for it with various weights.
The SB has one QD plate socket underneath, whereas the Maxim has QD sockets cut into the telescoping arm housing assembly.
SBs go for around $220 normally, whereas the Maxim goes for around $400.
If you want compactness and more adjustability in LOP with more QD sling options, the Maxim seems to be the one to beat.
If you want lower price with commonality of standard buffers and aren't as concerned with compactness, and don't mind the shorter LOP when extended, the SB seems to be the way to go.
I personally want the Maxim CQB Brace in FDE.
