Monster Barrel Accuracy

Here's a thread by PA_Allen. I don't know if this is typical but it's what's possible.
I recently purchased a 12" Monster barrel and bolt from BFT in the latest group buy. I just got the upper assembled last week and was able to take it out for its first test run today. I thought folks would be interested in some real-world results from the Monster barrels. Build specs: Monster 12" barrel and bolt
If I wasn't likely to shoot over 200 yards, I'd probably not spend the extra money on the Lilja. But really only you can decided.Paul Peloquin

I have a Monster (18) and a couple Liljas (16, 18). The Monster is a high end rack grade barrel. For the price, the Monster is hard, if not impossible, to beat.
I would say get a Monster, build and shoot it. If it doesnt meet your standards, you will be able to sell it here for most of what you paid for it. Assuming you aren't limiting it to cloverleafs only, at the range you are going to use it, you should be fine.
BFT has been working on evolving the design and optimizing its accuracy with Wolf ammo. It's worth evaluating.

I just got a new Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 CDS-ZL and mounted it to my recently built upper using the latest 12" Monster barrel. I took it out for a quick test run yesterday to zero the new scope at 100 yds and check zeros at 200 and 300 yds. I was shooting 100 gr NBT over 30.0 gr of 8208 which gets 2425 fps out of the
And another thread with recent hunting success:
I was fortunate enough to take a nice buck with my SBR built using a 12" group buy barrel. I was using my 100 gr NBT handload (30 gr XBR 8208, 2425 fps out of the 12" barrel.) The buck is a 9 point and weighed 198 lbs before field dressing. I shot the buck behind the shoulder broadside at 250 yds for a nice double
