So it's their 556 ammo line. At least that's what I can gather from the vid and some quick Google fuu.

Didnt watch the whole vid. Really having a hard time watching YouTube talking faces lately. Off to do some serious Google fuu and see how wide spread it is.

Oddly enough after several hours of Google fuu. I'm not seeing much of any reports of these events. The ones I did find were all 556 ammo and only two of the five were AAC ammo.

Not saying it's not happening and AAC isn't having issues. Just not many folks talking about it or reporting on it.

Checked the usual places, barfcom, snipershide, couple other well known pages.

Maybe I'm missing them some how.

Will be keeping a eye out, I think I have some AAC grendel ammo. Got to check the stash.

As I said I couldn't find a bunch of reports of this or I wasn't searching for it correctly.

Guy in the OP's video made it sound like hundreds of guns have been destroyed. So I expected to see tons of reports of this issue.

Well, he documented numerous issues and there a a bunch of AAC posts on QC problems, which would seem to go hand in hand.

I'm not so sure that's quite as damning or wide-spread as implied, but thanks for the headsup all the same. The good news is I make my own, so I've never bought AAC ammo.

I will say, AAC makes their own primers, and own cases, and buys their bullets from Hornady. But what I don't know is their powder supply chain details. I do know if I were St. Marks, it would be in my best interest to give AAC a very nice sweetheart deal - to prevent a repeat of how AAC told VISTA to go jump in a lake, and started making their own primers. And if I were monopoly St. Marks, I'd be doing everything I could to keep my monopoly.

So my first question is: Is AAC having the occasional powder charge issue slip through, where the charge wt is that far off? Or is it: they are having discount lowest cost St. Marks lots of powder with variable QC, and some parts of the drum are hotter or finer, than other parts of the drum? Would be curious to know.

My foray into AAC (and I hope they do well) has been some 6.5 grendel, with MVs slightly below or close to Hornady's in 18, 20 and 22" barrels.
And some 300 Blk, which was ok but nothing to write home about.
One box of Hornady black, however, (a 50-round box) seems pretty hot, ~50 fps hotter than hornady's of the last few years. I'll shoot this mostly in my bolt action, which can handle it.
But no kabooms or anything. Not a large sample, but my experience.

I bought some AAC 10mm "bonded" for my Glock 20 quite some time ago. It was on sale in store so i bought 2 boxes for plinking to see how they ran even though i handload for my 10mm. I had a couple fail to fire and noticed some rounds seemed hotter than others to me. Noticeable enough difference i tossed most of box 2 as i remember. no Kaboom or anything just noticed it wasn't consistent. I handload for everything i shoot except shotguns but once in awhile buy a box of something to see how it does. Seems pretty scary to me if a manufacture of ammo has any of that happening.
