I completely don’t understand Magpul’s thinking at this point in the market. Model after the KAK blade that hasn’t been popular or in-demand for several years now?
And the QD mount directly on the rear?

"Ambidextrous rear QD cup allows sling tension to be applied while firing with one hand to improve stability" https://magpul.com/shot-2020-announcements#braces

Makes sense. But then again, nobody will be shooting it like that, everyone is going to shoulder it and then complain it's uncomfortable.

That problem is easily solved by simply popping out the QD sling swivel. The lip of the QD cup is almost flush with the butt, and seems unlikely to be noticeable when pressed against the shoulder.

OTOH, the thin "blade" would concentrate recoil onto a very narrow area, and looks like it would be quite uncomfortable for shoulder firing.

The only good thing I see in designing the BSL and BTR braces to use a sling in this fashion is that it promotes the fiction that an AR "pistol" is a handgun, not a short-barreled rifle.
