New from Louisiana, building a 6.5 Grendel

I live in Lafayette, built a few AR's, now building a 6.5 Grendel. I have a question, I bought a Alexander Arms barrel, and a upper, just put it together. I bought the complete bolt from SunnyState, they claimed it's a 7.62x39 or 6.5 Grendel bolt. Now I see Alexander Arms says their bolts are .125 deep, and the spec for the 7.62x39 is .136? trying to find somebody with a headspace guage to check my rifle, before I fire it.

Geardo, I you have the bolt specs reversed. SAAMI Grendel is .136 and the 7.62x39 is .125....if you have a AA barrel and a .136 deep bolt face you are GTG. You can measure your bolt and determine what you have.

The rifle chambers a round easily, it shouldn't do that if I had a .125 bolt face

The AA barrel requires a .136 bolt face. You can use the carrier but you must replace the bolt. PF, AA and others sell the Grendel .136 bolt.

Looks like you need a different bolt. The AA barrels are definitely set up for the 0.136" and your link states 0.125" on theirs.

With a .125 bolt the round will chamber but the bolt will not rotate and lock.

I ordered a bolt from AA, and ordered a 7.62x39 barrel to go with the 7.62x39 bolt I have LOL

What magazines are you guys using? I tried a GI 20 rd, and it seems to feed fine
