Welcome to the forum! SC is certainly a sportsman's paradise. My 20" Grendel AR shoots paper and steel out to 1000 yards and has taken a bunch of hogs (much closer of course).

Welcome to the forum. Consider one of the group buy 16" barrels. A lot handier in the woods and you only give up about 100FPS in MV. Plenty of punch left at 300 yards.

What types of 300yd targets do they have at your club?

Even a 12" Grendel smokes steel at 300yds for sport.

For cutting paper, get the best barrel you can afford if you want to chase groups.
