I have had a Howa Mini action for a little while and recently picked up a 527 both in 6.5 Grendel. I have enjoyed 6.5mm cartridges for many years and have gravitated toward the Grendel for its cost and reduced recoil benefits. I find this to be a fun little round to shoot at the range and look forward to seeing what I can do with it.


I have been here several times in the past few months looking for information and figured it was time to just sign up.

Lots to learn here as far as reloading for this cartridge. Already seeing some different powders to look into. Not the powder QL is suggesting for the best velocity though. More to read I suppose.

I'm up in Michigan. For the most part the 6.5 Grendel is a paper puncher for me and eventually a centerfire to teach my nephews and niece with, if they want to of course. While I would like to give it a try for deer season, I do not have access to land outside the limited firearm zone. Well, there is state land but no place other than a hotel to stay if I go North. Downstate I can just stay at my parents. I have my .458x1.8 for down here.

Eventually I would like to buy some property further North and hopefully have range to stretch this little cartridges legs some.
