Good afternoon.
I'll spare the long version and simply say that I'm one grateful guy.
53yo, son graduating with his masters this Fall and has a great intern position this Summer, two great dogs that are getting old like me and sharing the same aches and pains, lol.
Decent job....with retirement somewhat in sight 5+ years from now.
My son, the dogs and I are finding out what life feels like without his wonderful loving mother, my wife of 27 years. She passed 13 months ago, taken way earlier than we could ever expect or understand. I have faith that when my time comes, I will be with her again. Until that day...there's parenting and maybe some grand parenting down the road. I'm hoping they'll be some more pups to raise when the time is right. Sure like the company of good dogs.
That being said....for the past couple-few years I've been gathering up components, dies, tooling, presses and etc to get back into reloading.....this time not just for hunting....but to supply my frequent handgun fun as well as what I hope will be precision rifle fun, too.
Joined a local range that's under 10 mins from the house. Pistol and rifle out to 200yds.
Joining another that runs out to 800+. It's an hour or so away. Can see getting there monthly, if not more often.
Mighty grateful for finding this place. You have an active forum with some excellent interaction and insightful support going back and forth.
Mighty grateful, folks.
Much of my rifle shooting will be bolt action .308 and am scoping a 6.5 CM and giving that a try.
I am adding a dedicated AR15 for 6.5 Grendel. Will be scoping it and enjoying ringing some steel with it.
I have dies & brass en route.
Also have some Hornady Black 123gr factory ammo to start off with. Obviously will be saving the brass.
What are some of the staple powders you can recommend that I get my hands on ?
I have some CFE223 now. Also have some Shooters World AR-Plus.
Thanks, everyone.
Looking forward to sipping on some coffee and reading up on the wisdom being shared here.
Thanks,
Greg
