Good Morning everyone...
I've been lurking here ever since I decided to try a few alternative calibers for my 0% lowers a couple of years ago. Originally I was considering a .308 but the need for a different lower and mags started pointing me towards the Grendel. The only problem I encountered was actually finding an upper when I had the spare $$$ to get one. During the search I found and purchased a 300 AAC upper, and dies and have played with that for about a year now but the Grendel bug never went away.
A few weeks ago when I got notification from Midway that they had the AA 24" upper in a jumped on it, also purchased 200 rounds of brass, Hornady 123 gr SST pills and the Hornady die set.
I set up the Grendel upper on my SPR lower with a Timney trigger and Nikon Monarch scope on a Larue removable base.
I'll be asking for suggestions in other threads because I plan on setting up a specific lower for the Grendel and may want to try a different trigger setup and get away from the removable scope mount and try a Vortex PST 6-24 scope.
I look forward to learning and sharing with you all.
