Yes, and look how effective that was.

Personally, I don't know why people would shop Dick's. Their prices generally sick. I could say that I am boycotting them, but I have been boycotting them since BEFORE they pulled this stunt previously...and that was because of how back their prices were. Showed up there a couple of years ago (not my choice) with the wife and kids looking for shoes for one of the kids and realized their prices had not improved on gun/hunting stuff. Their shoe prices weren't good either. So my 'boycott' is financial. Their profit ethics don't agree with my spending ethics.

Probably just PR so they can sell soccer balls and shuttlecocks to soyboys and soccer moms . I remember hearing on the radio that El Walmarto and Casa de Deposita were becoming gun free zones after Sandy Hook, but I've never seen a sign on the door that tells me not too. El Walmarto also said they weren't going to sell anything AR-15 related a couple of years ago. Mine has never sold guns, but after about a year of not carrying 223/556 ammo, the shelves have been full.
      Let's go Brandon!

My garage has a better inventory of outdoor equipment then Dicks sporting goods department.

But on a side note if I'm 19 and state stature says it is legal for me to purchase a firearm, isn't it discrimination if they refuse to sell to me solely on age?

I walked into a dicks store about 15 years ago. Was shopping for fishing gear, but I wanted to check out their firearms. Firearm prices were consideraby higher than any other store I frequented in the Denver metro area. I left and did not look back. So I guess you can say I boycott dicks. The sandyhook tragedy did not help my opinion of dicks, along with an assortment of other businesses. The idea that the owner claims that dicks is a "staunch supporter of the 2A", is so far from reality!

Didn't seem like mdram, or wraith1516 (or anyone else for that matter) expressing his opinion was throwing a "hissy fit" here. I communicate frequently with companies who choose to take politically based decisions/actions and let them know how that is impacting their finances. It is well within their "rights" just as it is well within my rights to choose those with whom I do business.

If companies refused to cave to the irrational demands of leftists, it wouldn't be necessary. However, ignoring leftist demands upon businesses will result in businesses caving more and more. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Do I advocate "irrational" arguments/demands?...nope.

BTW...I haven't stepped in Dick's since 2012...neither has anyone from my family. Before that, might have shopped some items on sale, but they generally suck as a sporting goods store anyways.

                Bjorn,
                +1
If they don't have the products I buy I don't shop there.

Marxists, yes, agree 100%. They want to take away our ability to defend ourselves and to speak out about unfair practices.
Oh, and they want to rule the world.

You haven't been around gun forums very long, have you? Calls for boycotts are common, but notoriously ineffective.

eh.... I use them for their restrooms.
Back to the bakers, though, if they sell a rifle to someone 21 but not to some 19, who is legal age... that is discrimination, and someone should take them to court and bankrupt them, would serve them right for slicing up the Constitution.

I've boycotted Dick's since 2012 when they first started this BS.

They didn't miss me and I didn't miss them.

                        GF,
I believe age discrimination is legal. Otherwise, anyone could get into the movies at the senior citizen rate.

It amazes me the people that trash the left or Liberals to only act like them in the end haha.

Just hoping this forum is a lil more mature than BARF.com or AKfiles.

                            Guys:

Good that someone posted this policy from Dick's. A public service.

Other than that, if you don't like them, don't buy from them. Not like there aren't about a billion other places selling the same things, most for the same or less.
