For all our non veterans out there!

    RULES FOR ASS-KICKING

    Rules for the Non-Military

    Dear Civilians,

We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military.

For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

    1. The next time you see any adults talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem - kick their ass.

    2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest - kick their ass.

    3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans and their families made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

    4. If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be ’Special Forces,' collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old, now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

    5. Next time you come across an *Air Force* member, do not ask them, 'Do you fly a
jet?' Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot.. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).

    6. If you witness someone calling the Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake - and kick their ass.

    7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.

    9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me - stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore would kick your ass!

    10. 'Flyboy' (*Air Force*), 'Jarhead' (*Marines*), 'Grunt' (*Army*), 'Squid' (*Navy*), 'Puddle Jumpers' (*Coast Guard*), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Using them could get your ass kicked.

    11. Whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our Country would get its ass kicked.

    12. It's the Veteran, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It's the Veteran, not the community organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, whose service to and for our country that allows the protester to burn the flag.

    AND ONE MORE:

    13. If you ever see anyone singing the national anthem in Spanish - KICK THEIR ASS.

ONE LAST THING: If you got this email and didn't pass it on - guess what - you deserve to get your ass kicked!

I sent this to you, not because I didn't want to get my ass kicked but because you are very special and I know you will not be offended and are proud to be an American.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE! IN GOD WE TRUST

Thanks, Bill. I wish everyone could read this. For my part, my contacts list is going to get a work out, today.

My understanding is that this comes from french prostitutes wearing combat boots while walking the streets...or who were given combat boots for services rendered...not sure if true or not...but certainly worthy of ass-kicking!

The post was in jest, tongue in cheek.

And although the words have been translated, it is in English that the song carries its power. It is the melting pot where English unites the masses of immigrants that creates the inter binding strength that created and has sustained the nation. No nation without a common language can maintain that strength. We are weakened when we do so, as millions of immigrant parents recognized when they demanded that their children speak English instead of another mother tongue.

Sir I'm questioning your "Veteran Status".

There's an old saying "Freedom of Speech protects you from the Government, it doesn't protect you from me."

I'll stand back and respect the right of individuals to protest war or whatever else they feel they need to all day. God help the SOB who burns Old Glory within my presence or anyone who stands in my way! (Unless it's a proper ceremonial retiring of an American Flag.)

Some things are just worth Fighting for and always will be, contrary to what the left wants you to believe.

There's a reason you haven't seen a military funeral protested in Alabama, at least to my knowledge. We won't put up with that, nor should any American. I'll take a bullet for one of my brothers and that doesn't only apply to some far off battlefield.

I'm all for immigration, because that is a big part of what made this melting pot we call America great. That being said you come here you learn our language, history, and culture first, then you bring your CONTRIBUTIONS to our culture. You don't get to trump our culture, language, or history with that of your homeland. If that's what you wanted you should of stayed there. I welcome immigrants to this country on those conditions.

The National Anthem was written in English and shall remain in English, unless you'd like to earn an ass kickin!

I see burning the flag by American citizens as a treasonous act that shows disrespect for the what our country stands for. THose citizens should have their citizenship revoked if they feel that strongly against us. Anyone no matter what the culture or background doesn't have the right to disrupt a funeral no matter what their warped cause may be. We are a melting pot of cultures and backgrounds, but without cohesion and unity toward the beliefs our constitution embodies "the flag represents", then how can we say that we are one nation at all? If there isn't a regulated path to citizenship then how much less of a unifying belief will there be toward our constitution? Tolerance toward intolerance of our central beliefs and constitution "flag being the icon", intolerable and naive.

In my view, burning the US flag is a treasonous offense with immediate beating not being enough punishment. These acts encourage more serious acts, including some of the blood we saw shed in recent weeks and months from domestic terrorism. It is like yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater -- there is no reason for it, and it is not speech even though some liberal yahoos claim it is.

Y85, I share your sentiment about language. I worked with folks who lived in regions where at least one of the languages you mentioned. I have since learned how extraordinarily difficult English is to speak for one who learns it as an adult. My main concern is that all government business be conducted in English, with children of immigrants using their new native language as a native. That evolution is one of the reasons for this nation's lasting strength!

There are very few places on earth where you have the homogeneity of a single language across a continental figure like the US in North America, with the world's 3rd largest population speaking it (or whatever they learned from other attention-deficit peers in public school nowadays, hooked on SMS message degradation of our tongue in the wake of the bastardization of English by the hip-hop wannabe gangsta culture).

My mom immigrated here and only spoke English with me, much to my chagrin, as learning her mother tongue isn't something you just do as an adult.

I will tell you all that after donating a significant portion of my life in the service of this great Nation, just seeing our Flag in the breeze is a very emotional experience for me as I think of those friends of mine who had their lives ahead of them, but lost them and left families back home grieving. I do feel a prominent sense to live a little better every day for them, and to cherish the lives we have, along with our unique and overwhelmingly blessed freedoms here in the US, a choice Nation above others.

Somewhere, sometime, you've got an ass-kicking coming.

The term "armed forces" means the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The Coast Guard as established 28 January 1915, shall be a military service and a branch of the armed forces of the United States at all times. The Coast Guard shall be a service in the Department of Homeland Security, except when operating as a service in the Navy.

I appreciate your sense of loss, LRRPF52.

Growing up, my siblings and I learned to say the dinner blessing in Norwegian to please our grandparents. We sang the Star Spangled Banner in English to make them proud. There is nothing wrong with honoring your heritage, as we all should, but we should also remember what makes this country great - The United States of America.
