    BATFE shuts down eForms system

If you have a Federal Firearms License, or work with an FFL-holder, please read this story -- there is an important change in the way the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATFE) will handle forms.

Here we go again, first it was the ObamaCare web site, now this.
It bothers me to no end that government agencies make themselves look like moronic buffoons at the cost of taxpayer dollars.
These peckerheads work for us (taxpayers) and we continue to put up with bullshit like this.
This is 2014, web site design is not rocket science any more,,,not that we need a web site or government agency to get permission to buy a machine gun or a suppressor.

Supposedly there were also places that were sending the forms over for batch processing (one after another after another... automatically) that the BATFE claimed was similar to a DDOS attack on the system.....

How is it that pornographers can get their websites to work OK, and the Gov can't.

              Translation:

On behalf of the Administration, we're going to tell you it's a technical issue, when in reality it's a political power one.

The premise is that the BATFE has Constitutional regulatory authority over the 2A, which has slowly encroached on the RTKBA slowly until there isn't much left. When they released eform filing, the numbers of approvals were happening so fast, it opened a flood gate, and gun grabbers within the administration and BATFE pulled the plug on it, pure and simple.

There's speculation the system will be back up, and running by May 1st. I'm not holding my breath, but I am crossing my fingers!

I've got several cans sitting at the dealer in wait of stamps, and don't want to wait 10-11 month's for this bullshit....

I can honestly say it was not ready for prime time...when I did an SBR via eForms, I had to redo 3 times with the phone assistance of one of their "specialists"...nice guy, really was trying to be helpful. The system just wasn't ready. They were taking it down for "maintenance" at least once, if not twice a day.

I don't think this is anything nefarious...while the principle was good (once submitted after 3 weeks of attempts, it was processed quicker than the paper forms), the amount of specialist intervention to make it work is probably much more intensive than expected.

This is what happens when you either: 1. go with lowest bid contractor; or 2. source select for political payoff.
