Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.
Please explain the advantage of funneling the mag well.
I'm assuming its so you can seat the bullet a little further out of the case mouth, but I am thinking you are still restricted by the mag.
Funneling the magazine well at the opening just makes reloads easier, that's all.
Back in the day, we called it beveling. A beveled magazine well can help make mag changes a little quicker. It's very common on custom pistols, particularly 1911-style .45s. Here are some examples from a Google image search.
