    Upcoming Barrels Update

We're making painfully slow progress on the next batches of our barrels, but here's an update. Currently, we're profiling the shorties, the 12" and 14.5" for 6.5 Grendel, 6mmARC, 22ARC, and 5.56 NATO (chambered in .223 Wylde and with 5/8-24 muzzle threads).

Next, we'll round out the lineup by finishing profiling the 16", 18" (both regular and heavy profiles), and 20" (both regular and heavy profiles).

Still too early for any realistic ETA, but we're getting there step by step. After profiling is nitriding, then back for installing extensions and drilling gas ports.

Great news! Fun seeing all the options in the raw like that.

Neat! Is the 14.5 spec unchangeable? Any thought or route to doing 14.7's, instead?

What does the 2 tenths of barrel length do for you over 14.5 ?

The ability to pin and weld to 16" legal with common A2 dimensioned muzzle devices. Otherwise have to use exotics of oversized muzzle devices. For Grendel's, I'm quite partial to the Gamma .300 BO brake ( APVG200003A) , which is A2 dimensioned and does a nice job cutting the recoil jump, while itself still being small and light. If I had a 14.7 BBL, I could run that. If it's a 14.5 - it will be 0.2" short of legal requirement.

That, and about 2 more FPS, I suppose

It's a good argument for 14.7. Upside with no real downside. Will seriously consider for future.

Out of curiosity, why 12” not 12.5”, when it seems that 12.5” is the industry “standard”?

Joe, 12" is an arbitrary length, chosen to get the shortest reliable length with a CLGS when it wasn't possible to make each of the lengths (10.3, 11.5, 12.5) then popular in the market. The proponents of each length would all claim their favorite was the "industry standard." So it seemed logical to go with a "happy medium" of all three lengths in a straightforward 4-inch jump (12, 16, 20). Of course, we do offer 14.5 (some would make the case for 14.7) and 18, which are other standards.

My original 12 inch test barrel, is still dropping piggy's and deer.

Probably the best off the self barrels I have ever had.

Both of the original 12” Monster group buy barrels I used for builds are still going strong.

My 9yr-old loves the 12” Grendel and makes hits with it out to 907yds on 2 MOA steel plates, even with a 1-6x24 GRSC LPVO.

Of all the barrel length Grendels I have, from 24” down to 12”, if I only had to choose one, it would be the 12” with suppressor.

That might change with 10.5” or the 8.5”, but we’ll have to see. I like to spend a few years shooting something before I have a solid overall feel for it.

Onboard for a 14.5 for sure.

Checking in. Rexus is always my first recommendation for shooters looking to try out the Grendel cartridge on a budget. Hopefully barrels are back in stock soon!

Latest update is that the last of the barrels, the 20s, were being profiled a week ago.
