Caught the Texas Stink Eye last week.

    Vile, vile Horde,

I have a new Thermion XM 38 that I hunted with for the first time last week.

90% of my scanning was done with a Flir handheld.

Here is the issue, I started scanning with the XM38, much much better resolution than my Flir.

After a short while my right eye was a little messed up.....I thought my glasses were dirty, cleaned them but the problem still persisted.

It was a lot like night blindness.

    Typical problem??

    Chuck

Does the issue go away? If so, likely it is a brightness issue where you have the Thermion much brighter. You can also get eye strain if you are looking through optics that are not focused properly. Make sure your ocular (eye piece) is adjusted properly on both such that the focus is good enough that the icons on the screens of each are exceptionally crisp. If the icons are crisp, then the ocular is adjusted correctly. Don't worry about the field of view clarity. That is handled with the objective lens focus.
