Would someone please supply a link to some proposed Black Flag laws? I would like to see what is actually being proposed. Over the years, I have learned that it is easy to get whipped up into a frenzy over what some people THINK that someone else MIGHT be proposing.
I will provide an example. Recently I got curious and did some research on the Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act of 1986*. I ran across an article that very strongly implied that this would make .22lr illegal. If you bother to read the law (which is poorly written, by the way), it specifically exempts ammo with bullets that are made largely of lead. So, yes, a .22 round made of steel or tungsten would be an issue, but the vast majority of .22lr ammo would not.
Now there are plenty of reasons to be concerned about that law, but .22lr is not one of them.
* the law was intended to regulate pistol ammunition that would penetrate the soft body commonly used by LEO's. Unlike in 1986, there are now a lot of AR15-based pistols that can shoot military 5.56x45 ammo that was designed to pierce barriers like soft body armor.
