Montana brings up an interesting point about training. Perhaps we should require that a condition for getting a driver’s license is that an individual shows evidence of having passed a firearms safety test, including familiarization shots with rifle, pistol, and shotgun?
Then, we could add a background investigation as requirement for the driver?s license and each time one purchases or rents a car?
This way, training and background checks become universal and accepted.
Of course, a few might object to the routine and intrusive invasions of privacy.
