We can still go down the beach...But... gun shops across Australia have been closed by the State Governments. Primary Producers (farmers), Vets, Police/Military and Licensed vermin controllers have special permission to to purchase ammunition however the Police are no longer processing applications for new guns.
I am aware there is a run on guns and ammo in the US however the international narrative has couched it as self-defence in a gun culture. Maybe, but I image a lot of consumer just want to ensure they have enough ammo to continue their hobby.
Take note..This is a case study of what happens when you don't have a 2A. In a crisis, the Government errs on the side of caution. I have no further opinion on the matter as I think our government is doing a good job.
