If you can live with a 3 or 5 round magazines, the standard Tikka T3X model should be extremely easy to convert. All the parts are interchangeable, long action, short action, mini action, all use the same size receivers, mag well and bolt length. The action lengths are controlled changing the bolt stop and spacers in the magazines. Thats it.
Ive run some dummy Grendel 120 Gold Dot rounds at 2.400 COL out of a regular short action mag, in a 6.5 Creedmoor and it picked them up and fed them into the chamber no problem. Tikka smooth!
Get a 223, have the bolt face opened up, put the short action bolt stop in, then use the standard short action mags and it should be good to go.
Of course it would be even better if Tikka saved us the trouble but I doubt thatll happen anytime soon.
