Regardless of the BM material, I check the fit-up of each mag for what I've got. If a bit loose then a little duct tape strip on one side or the other usually firms up the fit so no unwanted dropouts. Plus with the newer 9or a cut-down) release tab I haven't had any problems with them...
'Course most of the time I'm carrying a different rifle, but the times I've had the howa outside I've not had problems with drops. Of course ymmv.
Right now I'm running the DIP, but I wouldn't hesitate to use the hpk or oregun guys if I needed it.
