A 2-day event at a mid-US rifle range for Warrior+ class 65Grendel forum members, fun shoot/informal competition in 300 and 600 yd known distance. Why 600? To make the distance shooter-friendly since many might not have a 30 mm scope and/or a 20 moa riser, which you typically need to honestly get to 1000 yd. This also allows for most Grendel ammo, which could be ~2460 +/-, to stay above trans-sonic at about 850 yds.
Everybody understands that the chief purpose is to build contacts and camaraderie in the Warrior community, this is not a cold-hearted win the shoot. Polite discussions allowed with no expectations of solving the worlds problems. To some extent an honor system may be needed but this should not be unexpected.
This will be 6.5 Grendel/ 264LBC only (as based upon the 6PPC cartridge), either AR, Bolt action or single shot. No steel core or tracer rounds, in keeping with host Ranges rules. All other host Range rules shall also apply. All shooters must sign applicable waiver releases/ legal acknowledgements as per host Range rules.
The current plan is to have shooters placed in Group A or Group B flight by random selection. Each group, 10 max people, will be paired randomly up to 5 pairs. One pair will start as ROs, the other pairs will shoot, one shoots, the other spots. When a pair is finished, the RO pair will rotate in if desired and the finished pair will perform as ROs. Depending on how many participate, I anticipate a 300 yd and a 600 yd competition, or maybe a combined 300/600.
Max participants: probably up to 20, this # could fluctuate as we work on further details.
When the sign-up comes, well need a deposit b/c there will be obligations of some costs to the range to get everything reserved. All deposits will go towards the per-shooter costs of the event.
Part of the activities will be a group dinner for each of the 2 days, any awards we have will be presented at the final dinner.
T&E unless spelled out in the venue costs, will otherwise be each members own cost.
Some places have onsite lodging/meals, others have hotels nearby.
Day 1 will start with a 100 check zero, then the flights of 300/600 will take place. Final rounds of 300/600 will be on day 2, and ties-breakers at 1000 yds if needed. The 1000 yd will hopefully be open for anyone else ad a personal challenge shoot.

Onsite lodging of various rooms/rates, onsite catering $37.50/day/person for 3 meals/day. Has a cabin/classroom available for setup and dinners. Est cost for 2 days: for 10-20 people, Room rate + $105 plus any taxes. Rooms run $60-150/day or RV at $30-35/day.
2. Badlands Tactical, Grandfield OK. Has a complete village and 1000 yd range, onsite lodging for up to 20, commercial kitchen. Est cost $175/day plus range fees.
3. Fouled Bore Precision, Ninnekah, OK. Has 1000 yd range, lodging would be at nearby hotels, catering tbd, rate tbd but probably comparable to Badlands.
4. Conway Lead distributors, has 1000 yd range, cost and lodging tbd.
