Howa Mini Action 6.5 Grendel Accuracy

My howa likes the BRN-1 MDT chassis from Brownells. 123 SST handloads, different seating depths from the chassis. It didn't care for factory loads and is a bit picky with handloads, too, but most of those have been run with the factory stock and a lower power scope. [ATTACH=CONFIG]13324[/ATTACH]

Broke my mini in over the weekend at 200 yds, gun is devcon bedded in a boyds pro varmint. Was getting. 75 inches on avg with ease using lapua brass, cci 450, 27.5 8208 & a 123 scenar.

I broke my mini Howa in over the weekend at 200 yards. Calm conditions with little to no wind. A rifle is Devcon bedded in a Boyd's Pro varmint stock which was sitting on a Sinclair f-class bipod. I was averaging ..85 in with the 123 grain scenar Lapua brass CCI 450 and 27.6 Grains of XBR 8208.

No I was running out of daylight.. I hope it's close to 2500fps though

I recently had a range buddy chrono my load but I'm using 28.0 grains of xbr. The lab radar averaged me at 2488 fps out of the 20" HB howa

How light is the Boyds stock compared to the original black factory synthetic stock? Wouldn't mind trying one but I don't want to add a bunch of weight. To me it takes away from the handiness of the rifle the way it is. I have the no.2 contour 22" barrel version.

Can't tell you on the weight of the factory stock but my heavy barreled action with vortex diamondback scope 4-16x42, burris rings and outerimpact 20moa rail and muzzle brake in the pro varmint stocks is 8 half pounds with full loaded mag

Huh.

I've been running 130 ELD. Just finished another round of testing with AA2520 @ 30.4 - 30.9 and in the low 2500s. My node was in there somewhere from previous testing at the same COAL. IIRC I was north of 32gr before sticky bolt, still no ejector marks or cratered primers.

Regardless, the heavier SST seems to do better accuracy wise, or it happens to like your barrel - SST being the only bullet aside from Nosler RDF that has to like the barrel, not the other way around.

I have an RCBS chrono and haven't used it alot so accuracy may be in question . no ejector mark or bad primers , I might move up a little bit very slow and see what happens.I like to be on the safe side and this seems to shoot well but I would like to see more MV .

I ran some 2520 loads with the 129 sst , 30.3 , 30.5 , 30.7 and 31 ended up with about moa and 2382fps

Either my LR if off...bad, or something else is wonky. Did you replace your scale?

Awesome groups, Truly, but one or the other of us needs to verify velocity. I can't believe you are 100 fps slower than my 20" Howa, which is a slow barrel. This 20 Howa gets the same velocities out of my 18" Bartlien AR shooting factory 123 ELD ammo, verified with both a magnetospeed and labradar.
