I bought a Howa mini action in a 6.5 grendel for my 12 year old to start getting into high power silhouette after he did smal bore silhouette this year.

I bought the howa mini with the wood stock, deciding on the scope now, leupold or sightron.

Once we get his dialed in and are successful I might get my own. At 6.2 lbs it’s a perfect size for him.

I wish something like the Howa Mini or a SAKO Vixen in 6.5 Grendel had been available when I was a kid.

That would have been much easier to get trigger time with than our Model 70 in .270 Winchester.

I think the closest thing might have been a 250-3000 Savage, which wasn’t that popular or well-known.

Next was my Grandpa’s .257 Roberts.

I never looked or thought of getting one but it was on my local gun shops shelf and fit him well, should work well for him and my 6 yoa once he gets older.
