No Sneaky I didn’t get around to testing the prototype bullets and they were victims of a huge reloading bench reboot (reorganization) sorry about that.

I didn’t expect to come back to the Grrr after 4 previous Grendel’s left me wanting and when I clicked out last time the short throat G-II chamber issues were just kicking off so I ducked for cover.

My hunting buddy DNS sort of got me to looking back Grrrs way as he has been super effective with the caliber/rifle for the last few years.

This lastest Grrr im running has bested the previous builds and I’m loving it, again.

I’ll go hunt down this decals thread...

My next bullet test will be the Prvi 120 HPBT with Power Pro 2000-MR...

After than either 120gr Amax or the Gold Dot if they ever release them

FWIW I got 2507 fps (SD 11) with 31.2 gr of CFE223 and a 120 Nosler BT out of my 18" barrel on a 45 degree day. I worked up to it but I can't remember the other charges' MV off the top of my head.

I have some more loaded up to 28.0 gr of 8208 XBR for comparison sake, waiting for a chance to shoot them.

Been a while since I played with loads for the Grendel. I don't know that anyone has found the fairy dust to mimic Hornady Black. For me and the ladies (5) that is still the #1 accuracy load, aside from Sandy loves the Moscow Match.

Insofar as the SST - Good luck. Accuracy with those are a crap shoot - I've run factory SST through 8 barrels/rifles and not a one would do better than 1.75" 5 shot group. Better hunting pills out there. Look in the hunting section for more info.

No crimp, I am using Hornady dies that I polished the expander button down .001. Jam at 2.310 so .020 jump.

I'm in the same boat as you....Nosler Ballistic Tips have always shot very very good for us in everything we've loaded them in.

We've killed a lot of critters with them!!!

My first attempt at loading for the 6.5 grendel was with the 120gr nosler ballistic tip and to no surprise they shot very good.

We're patiently waiting to buy some more!!!
