    I bet there is a huge drop-off in barrel pressure between when a bullet has just left the case and when it has passed the gas port.

    Edit: I can see myself holding the gun where the forearm would be and carelessly getting a finger over the hole. That's the kind of luck I have sometimes.

      The same as any AR15 with the same gas port length.
      Do you think the BCG will hold back all the pressure?
      Besides, this is a rifle length port which is 13" from the breech.
      It is more similar to a ported barrel than you think. Even better than the group buy 12.7" barrels.
      In fact I notice an EXTREME REDUCTION in muzzle rise when I shoot it uncovered.
