Whats the twist rate on the LW barrel? I see brownells reporting its a 1-10 twist? I feel like this is a little slow for the 123gr rounds no?

Have a rifle incoming from whitakers as we speak

According to Matt at LSI, the twist rate is 1:8.

Yep I picked up a lightweight 20inch Grendel today and the twist is fast, i had hoped to get the medium weight 22inch but with limited supply downunder I grabbed what I could.

I'm looking foward to some more range reports with the 6.5 mini. Could potentially be one hell of a truck gun.

Does anyone with the LW barrel wish they went heavy? I got the lw because it was all that was available. Might try and pick up a heavy for suppressed shooting.

I went "heavy" from the start. BTW, It is not really all that heavy, but I am wondering if the demand for them isn't greater? LW barrels are much more available.

Per a user on another forum, I don't think that's true. He took a 22 inch and cut it down to 16. Did state they had to use a 1/2 by 28 to make it work. Took a nice deer with it last weekend per his thread.

Good point. I have a 7.62x39 M92 PAP thats threaded 1/2x28 with 0 problems. Had to bore out a 223 QD mount but works fine otherwise.

Our local Eastern Outfitters in Jacksonville/Richlands got 4 HB rifles in about 10 days ago. 2 black and 2 highlander. The 2 black were gone in less than 6 hours. They were $518.00.

I just called that store. All 4 of them were preordered by customers.

                            Thanks, Dinny

I wonder if after the initial demand gets worked out, if the street price of these will be close to the $420 range that Whittaker's is asking for them? Don't need one for the MSRP in the $700s, but wouldn't mind getting the toes wet for $400 ish.

You'll probably be able to find used ones for less than $400 in another year. Eventually someone will sell one to fund another project.

                                Thanks, Dinny
