I read everything posted about the RAP in 6.5 Grrr but I had the opportunity to get one at a great price and picked it up.
I pretty much need to do everything others have mentioned. I cycled some Federal factory rounds through my already reliable 4 and 10 round mags in it. Only the 4 round ASC seemed to work OK in it. (All the mags rock substantially). Most of the mags fail to feed the last cartridge. Period. All of them need coaxed to pick up the shells which hopefully will lesson as it's used.
Didn't fire it yet. I still have to finish cleaning the molasses Ruger calls oil off the other parts and re lube.
The ASC mags have already been "Dremeled" so they worked 100% in my AR. Feed ramps will be touched up and I need to take the action off the stock to make sure it is true to the barrel length and not off-centered as others have posted on other forums.
In PA, if I want to hunt whitetails, a bolt is the only Grendel option off the shelf. Unless this rifle feeds 100%, it won't be in the woods with me this winter.
I'll throw some range stuff on it's paper-punching abilities after it's broken in some and I know I have a free-floated barrel. I have a Nikon Buckmaster fine cross hair dot reticle in 4x18 40mm not doing anything that I'll put on it at this point.
Not shocked but still a little disappointed. Any other suggestions are welcome. It's staying in the green factory stock.
TIA
