I run the LaRues because for the money they cannot be beat (FWIW I run all of mine on the heaviest/"duty" spring they send with, not the one that makes it even lighter). Looking forward to trying one of the new flat trigger shows too. I also have several Gissele's and I love them. Depends on how much one wants to spend. The ALG trigger, (ECT/NiB treated version) is easily the best general single-stage/duty trigger out there for the money. It's made by Geissele for a price point but with a tiny ammount of polish up it's as good as anything that's not 2-stage and reliable/not too light for service use.
Best trigger...?

I have 6 or 8 Geissele triggers; different models for different setups. I like them a lot, but I decided to try a lower priced trigger on a recent build. I picked up one of the Velocity's for $130, I think MSRP was $149, and I like it. Between spending $80-$90 on a RRA NM or $130 on the Velocity, I like the Velocity better.

I love the Triggertech drop-in I put in my build. Pull is adjustable from 2.5 to 5.0 lbs, and it has the tension screw to avoid the need for anti-rotation pins.
MSRP is slightly north of your price point, but I got mine on sale for $209.

I have two Geissele triggers: Their Super 3 Gun (S3G) & their plain GS2 without laser markings. The S3G is great. It breaks like a glass rod. More pricier than others but worth it to me. However, the GS2 is... meh... the drag after the first stage take-up is horrible. I replaced it with a Velocity 3lb drop-in that has a better let-off. I put a LaRue MBT-2S in my Grendel AR. It doesn't have the snap of the SG3 but is still an excellent trigger. I'd buy another if I were to build another AR. I also have Timney, CMC & Wilson Combat triggers. They are all comparable units... No complaints with any of them.I refuse to be victimized by notions of virtuous behavior.

Geissele is the nicest AR trigger I own. Larue is a close second at under half the price - they’re what I recommend to anyone who will listen. You can’t go wrong with either, but I can get a couple bottles of Weller or Johnny Drum for the difference in price.Fast is fine, but accuracy is final.

i just picked up a foxtrot mike 2 stage match trigger - nickel boron coating from brownells for $89. not bad trigger. still breaking in the barrel and such so no firm feedback yet, but better than GI issue by far. and not super expensive either.
