Thanks for the info! Planning on ordering a 12" when my next paycheck comes in. I would have spaced it out without this info. Nice to know I can just push it all the way to the shoulder and clamp it down.

The one I got last week does as well as the 12 inch I had. 5 at are just under 1/2 at 100 yards with my 120 gold dot handloads with a 4-20 athlon scope and 10 under are just at 1 inch at 50 yards with a 2moa red dot sight.

Sorry for my ignorance I am new to 6.5 grendel builds. I stumbled on your barrel and bolt options. Who manufactures the barrel? I've seen people mention faxon and green mountain. Also, how does the barrel compare to say the faxon 16 inch gunner for $100 dollars more?

Thank you for the response. I have always bought BA but wanted to try something new on my 65g build. I'm leaning heavily towards the MONSTER barrel and bolt.

I just received my 16" the other day. Still a ways from having an upper together. I hope this this the correct forum to ask: does anyone feel a need to use an adjustable gas block with the 16" Monsters mounted on a carbine lower? Standard spring and buffer weight. Kind of curious about it as I have not decided on a gas block yet. I'd just as soon put on a nice, basic GB like a BCM or similar. Less expensive for sure.

To elaborate. I'm not interested in "tuning it to perfection". I just want a reliable rifle. If the Monster's gas port allows for pressure in general realm of normal, then I'd not fool with an adjustable.
