Dt,
Not cup shaped. They are split and offset so it acts like a spring, if you look in the photo you can see the split in the washer. It continues to apply positive tension even when the brake heats up and expands off the threads and shoulder. This expansion phenomenon is worse in suppressors. It doesn't matter how hard you do them up because as soon as they heat up they want to come off, and recoil helps them unscrew. You don't want the worry of having to keep checking they are still tight.
I see on Brownells that the HK split washers are out of stock. Doesn't have to made by a gun manufacturer. Hardware and specialist parts stores will stock this.
Or you can get 4 or 5 uses out of a crush washer if you do them up a little bit each time. The (cup shaped) crush washer is designed to take one full turn for timing. So do it up until it binds then stop. Unscrew it for cleaning occasionally then do it back up a quarter turn more than last time. And like this until you can't crush it anymore. They're cheap and disposable this way. But split washers will last forever and go on/off hand tight, no tools required.
You could use Rocksett instead. That's a glue with high temp resist properties (2K degrees F). Manufacturers like Knights Armament use it. Once it's on it stays on however so no cleaning the crown after firing.
