I spoke with Curt over the phone and a couple of emails back and forth. He was very helpful and willing to help. He told me he typically starts around 47ft/lbs then adjust as needed. So in order to do this, you will need a vise, upper receiver vise block, C-clamps to secure vise (I mounted the vise to a true 2x6 piece of cypress. It's much harder than pine), torque wrench (the clinch type), and hand tools to take apart the handguard, gas tube and block, muzzle device. If you can work around the gas tube, it would make for a much easier job.
I will probably invest in the a set of short barrel nut wrenches that connect to 1/2" drive torque wrench to help with this. I was shooting another bolt gun at the time, but the process took me around 3.5-4 hours. I was having to take breaks bc of the Louisiana 95 degree heat.
It was pretty much a trial and error process. I plan on going up to 53 ft/lbs for S H I T S and giggles.
Thanks @rebby for pointing me in the right direction.
